Connectors and users

The difference between connectors and users, what gets mapped for each, and connector groups.

Written by Bee Keeper

Connectors are the people whose relationships are mapped for your team. Users are teammates who can sign in to The Swarm. Every user is also counted as a connector.

What gets mapped for a connector

As soon as you add a connector, The Swarm maps their work and education overlaps and any investors their company shares with yours. They don't need an account, and they're never notified.

You can add more by bringing in their own connections:

  • They share them: send a request through the Connector Portal, or share your team's invite link. They can share LinkedIn connections and Google Contacts & Calendar without creating an account.

  • You import them: if you already have their LinkedIn connections export, import it for them.

Connector groups

Each connector belongs to one group: Employees, Investors, Customers, Portfolio, Advisors or Others. Your colleagues are added to Employees automatically when your team is created. Custom groups aren't available.
