Request LinkedIn connections through the Connector Portal

Ask a connector to share their LinkedIn connections through the Connector Portal, and how connectors share them.

Written by Bee Keeper

When you add someone as a connector, you can ask them to share their LinkedIn connections. The Swarm sends them a private link to the Connector Portal, where they can share their network in a few clicks. Their connections are then added to your team's network.

For Owners and Admins: send a request

  1. Go to Connectors and select Add Connectors.

  2. Open the Person tab and search for the person you want to add.

  3. Pick their group, such as Employees, Investors or Advisors, and continue.

  4. On the Request LinkedIn connections step, check their email address and edit it if needed.

  5. Select Send request.

The connector doesn't need a Swarm account and can't see your team's data. Sharing takes about two minutes on their side.

Other options on the same step:

  • Skip for now: adds the connector without a request. You can send it later from the Connectors page.

  • Import CSV or add manually: if you already have their connections. See Import connections for a connector.

Their connections appear on the Connectors page once they've shared them and processing is complete.

For connectors: share your LinkedIn connections

You'll get an email titled Share your network with [company name] from the person who invited you.

  1. Select the link in the email to open the Connector Portal. No login is needed.

  2. Confirm your LinkedIn profile. If the profile shown isn't yours, contact support@theswarm.com.

  3. Import your LinkedIn connections in one of two ways:

    • Chrome extension (recommended): install it and stay signed in to LinkedIn while it reads your connections. You can then return to the portal.

    • Upload CSV: download your connections from LinkedIn and upload the file. LinkedIn can take up to 24 hours to prepare it; see How to download your LinkedIn connections as a CSV.

  4. Import your Google Contacts (optional). Google asks you to authorise access; make sure Select all is checked.

When you're done, you'll see Thanks for sharing your network.
