How many Connectors can I add?

Written by Bee Keeper

The number of connectors you can have at any time depends on your plan. This article explains how connector limits work, what counts toward your limit, and what happens when you reach it.

What counts toward your limit

Your connector count is the total of three things:

  • Active connectors — team members with a login account in The Swarm. Every user on your team, including owners and admins, counts as one connector.

  • Passive connectors — external contacts added to your network manually, for example via a LinkedIn URL. These do not have login access but still count toward your limit.

  • Pending invitations — anyone you've invited to join your team counts as a connector from the moment the invitation is sent, until it is accepted or revoked.

  • Total connectors = active connectors + passive connectors + pending invitations

If you want to free up a slot without removing a contact entirely, revoking a pending invitation immediately reduces your count.

What happens when you reach your limit

When your connector count reaches your plan's limit, adding new connectors is blocked. You'll see a prompt on the Connectors page explaining that you've reached your limit.

At that point you have two options:

  • Upgrade your plan to a higher tier with a larger connector limit

  • Remove existing connectors from the Connectors page to make room

There is no option to queue connectors for later. The block stays in place until your count drops below your plan limit or you upgrade. Everything else in The Swarm continues to work normally — the limit only affects your ability to add new connectors.

How to check your current connector count

You can see your current usage at any time in the header of the Connectors page, displayed as X / Y connectors used. A warning will appear when you reach 80% of your limit so you have time to plan ahead.
