Connect Google Contacts & Calendar

Connect Google Contacts and, optionally, Calendar. The Swarm refreshes them every week.

Written by Bee Keeper

Connect your Google account to add the people you email and meet to your team's network. Once connected, The Swarm refreshes your contacts and meetings every week, so new people show up without you doing anything.

Connect Google

  1. On your Overview, select Connect next to Connect Google Contacts & Calendar.

  2. Sign in with Google and allow access. Make sure Select all is checked.

  3. Choose whether to share your calendar. Calendar is optional; you can share contacts only.

Your contacts start appearing within a few minutes.

What The Swarm uses

  • Contacts: people in your Google Contacts.

  • Calendar (optional): who you've met with. Meetings help measure connection strength.

The Swarm never reads your emails, attachments or the content of calendar events.

Weekly refresh

Every connected Google account refreshes once a week on its own. New contacts and new meetings are added automatically, so your intro paths stay current.

If Google access stops working

If Google stops giving us access, for example because you removed The Swarm in your Google account, we notice on the next refresh. We email you once, and your Overview shows a Reconnect Google button. Select it and sign in again.

Remove access

To stop sharing, remove The Swarm from your Google account's third-party connections. To also remove contacts that were already imported, contact support@theswarm.com.
