It's now time to ask for introductions, exciting!

Identifying potential introductions

We recommend looking for Strong and Familiar connections by using the Strength filter. This ensures that the member you'll ask an intro to knows the person you're trying to reach well enough. This is what makes The Swarm dramatically different from LinkedIn, where you don't know how well people might know each other. More on this here.

Pick a connection from another member from a list or directly from the Connections tab, and click on the letter icon to get started. Note that you can only ask for intros for people who are not your connections (not for your own connections, of course).

Customizing your ask

You can customize your message and forward-able note with variables and preview it before sending it. Available variables include:

  • {FirstName} - recipient’s first name

  • {LastName} - recipient’s last name

  • {TeamName} - your team name

  • {ProfileFullName} - prospect’s full name (first name, last name)

  • {ListTitle} - list name at The Swarm

  • {ForwardableMessage} - forwardable intro message that can be added during list creation or in the list details

If there's a forwardable intro template associated with this list, it will be added to this email. This allows you to save time by customizing the message for a specific list.

Your member will receive an email instantly and the status of the connection on the list will be automatically updated to "Intro requested".
