Click on “People" on the left sidebar and click the “Add Connections” button in the top-right corner. Then you’ll see possible ways of importing your connections. Swarm supports multiple import methods for LinkedIn connections, including CSV upload, manual addition of profile URLs, and an invite-by-link feature.
If you want to import your LinkedIn connections manually, choose the "Import CSV manually" option from the list. This CSV method is especially helpful for adding multiple connections at once and is one of the three primary import options Swarm provides.
Manual Addition of LinkedIn Profile URLs
Another method Swarm supports is manually adding LinkedIn profile URLs. This is particularly useful for selectively importing specific connections without bulk importing.
Identify the LinkedIn profiles you want to add.
Copy their profile URLs directly from LinkedIn.
Navigate to Swarm's 'Add Connection' option and input the profile URLs individually.
To get started, you’ll need to export your LinkedIn connections. Here’s how: Swarm provides this export-and-upload method as an alternative to LinkedIn OAuth, ensuring wider compatibility and greater control over your connection data.
Log in to your LinkedIn account.
Go to Settings & Privacy – find it in the dropdown menu under your profile picture.
In the left-hand sidebar, select Data Privacy.
Click “Get a copy of your data.”
Choose “Download larger data archive, including connections, contacts, account history, and inferred profile insights.” Then, click “Request archive.”
If prompted, enter your password to confirm. LinkedIn will generate your data file within a few minutes, and you’ll receive an email when it’s ready.
Download and unzip the archive once you receive the email.
Head back to The Swarm, where you can upload the “Connections.csv” file from the downloaded package.
Invite by Link
Swarm also allows you to invite individuals via a unique link. This is particularly beneficial for inviting connections who may not wish to use the Chrome extension or other technical methods.
Go to Swarm’s 'Invite by Link' option.
Generate a unique invitation link.
Share this link with your connections, allowing them to join Swarm seamlessly.
Once you click "Import" you should see your first imported connections after just a few seconds.
I can’t see all of my Connections on The Swarm after uploading the CSV
Don’t worry if you can’t see all of your connections at first, because the process of combining and enriching them may take a moment. Connections will appear gradually, so you should see them all when you refresh the page after a couple of minutes.
