At The Swarm, we define “members” as anyone—active or passive—who contributes to building and enriching your network of connections. Here’s how each type works:

🟡 Passive Members

Passive members do not sign up or get notified. You can add them in two ways:

  • By pasting their LinkedIn URL in the Connectors tab. Learn more

  • By sending them a custom invite link via the “Invite by Link” option. Learn more

Once added, our AI Relationship Mapping process analyzes publicly available data—such as work history, education, and shared investors—to identify and add relevant connections to their passive profile.

If you have access to their LinkedIn connections (e.g. via a CSV export), you can also manually upload their Linkedin connections those in the Connectors tab to enrich their network further.

🟢 Active Members

Active members are users who join The Swarm by creating an account and connecting to your team. They are invited via email and must sign up at app.theswarm.com.

Once signed in, they can contribute their LinkedIn connections in two ways:

  • Automatically: By installing our Chrome extension, which uploads their 1st-degree LinkedIn connections, Importing their Google Contacts and Google Calendar Contacts.

  • Manually: By uploading a LinkedIn connections CSV file.

These users actively grow your team’s shared network and are visible participants in the workspace.

Connector Limits by Plan

On the Base plan, you can add up to 250 connectors. The Premium plan increases this limit to 1,000 connectors—including both passive and active types combined.
