The Swarm connection strength estimates the warmth of a relationship between members and their connections. With it, you can reveal warm relationships and send intro requests with a high level of confidence.

It's based on a proprietary algorithm that automatically estimates the warmth of the relationship, scores it, and normalizes it as Warm, Familiar, or Weak.

Our algorithm is based on the following criteria:

  • Having a common company in employment history

  • The length of the overlap at that company

  • If they work in the same area/domain

  • Having exchanged one or multiple emails

  • Having met one or multiple times

  • Being connected on LinkedIn

How to improve connection strength?

To improve the connection strength accuracy, please make sure that you and your members use all the import sources available: Work overlaps, LinkedIn connections, and Google Contacts (if you use Gmail).

You can then filter Connections by using the "Score" filter.

The "Connection Strength" tab under each profile will give you details on the relationship.

How to edit connection strength?

To adjust your connection strength with a specific profile, navigate to the Profile Page and select the "Connection Strength" tab. In the connections table breakdown, find your name and utilize the dropdown menu in the "Strength" column.

Please note that you can modify only your personal connection strength within the connected profiles.
